The 2025 Evening of Energy continued to build momentum for mitochondrial research, raising over $900,000 to support next-generation scientific discovery.

Hosted by Co-Founders Mitzi Solomon and Jeff Solomon, the night united scientists, advocates, and supporters around a shared mission — accelerating the science needed to better understand and treat diseases rooted in cellular energy.

We were proud to recognize Sebastien Cotte, his wife Annett, and their son Jagger as our 2025 Powerhouse Award recipients — honoring extraordinary strength, perseverance, and resilience within the mitochondrial community.

Jagger, who never spoke a single word, lived a life defined by courage, bravery, and quiet heroism. From complex medical care every hour of every day to unwavering love through unimaginable challenges, Jagger became — and will always remain — his parents’ greatest inspiration. Through their advocacy and commitment to advancing research, the Cotte family continues to inspire hope and progress for families affected by mitochondrial disease.
